Para regar ciudades lejanas, por dinero, para plantaciones intensivas, para locos proyectos turísticos (nieve artificial para esquiar, campos de golf …). La razón oficial siempre es para regular el suministro de agua y garantizar que las regiones que más sufren la escasez de agua tengan acceso a ella mediante embalses. Se drenan las fuentes, se instalan pozos, bombas, tuberías y tanques.

¡La vida, el futuro y l’agua no se negocian!Aracena es una pequeña ciudad cerca de Portugal, en el Parque Natural de Sierra Aracena, una región montañosa y relativamente húmeda, rica en fuentes naturales. La zona sigue albergando, por ejemplo, orquídeas, salamandras, orioles dorados y el búho águila en peligro de extinción, lo que le ha valido el título de ZEPA (Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves).

Los dirigentes hacen la vista gorda ante ciertas restricciones ecológicas y legales y ante las consecuencias negativas a corto, medio y largo plazo de este proyecto. La población se levanta, se manifiesta y apoya a los propietarios, que actualmente están amenazados de expropiación en caso de oposición. El proceso judicial está en marcha.
